Spare a thought for Rangers across the world who are protecting wildlife until such time that you can visit again. In Africa, the halting of tourism has had a devastating economic impact which is threatening the livelihoods of millions of people including those in communities located adjacent to National Parks who help to protect the continent’s iconic wildlife such as elephant, rhino and lion. The Africa Travel Industry are cumulatively cycling 30,000 – the equivalent of circumnavigating Africa – to raise funds to support rangers who are the first line of defence to protect endangered species, especially in many places where there is no longer funding for them. Ride4Rangers is part of the Wildlife Ranger Challenge and for every pound or dollar donated, this will be matched by the Scheinberg Relief Fund. It’s an incredible challenge.
